How to Add Sealant to a Tubeless Bicycle Tire

How to Add Sealant to a Tubeless Bicycle Tire

Tubeless bicycle tires have revolutionized the way we ride — fewer flats, less labor when dealing with punctures. But, like anything, they require maintenance. Adding sealant helps retain puncture protection and prevent slow leaks. Here's a step-by-step guide to make it clean and simple.

Step 1: Release the Air

Start by deflating the tire completely.

Step 2: Remove the Valve Core

Using your preferred tool, remove the Presta valve core.

Step 3: Attach the Sealant Funnel

Thread a Sealant Funnel onto the valve stem.

Step 4: Add the Sealant

Pro Tip: Pinch and hold the top of the tire before and while adding sealant to help it flow through the valve stem.

Add your preferred sealant, then release the tire to draw it in.

Step 5: Remove the Funnel

Once the sealant is in, carefully unthread and remove the funnel.
